OLYMPIC-standard coach Simon Redmond from Fremantle Port Swimming Club visited Goldfields Oasis Recreation Centre at the weekend to pass on his knowledge to local swimmers.

He ran clinics on Saturday and Sunday for the junior members of the Kalgoorlie Swimming Club.

The aim was to help prepare swimmers going to the Challenge Stadium in Perth.

Kalgoorlie Swimming Club head coach Marie Molloy said: “At the end of the month a selection of kids who qualify will compete over two weekends.”

The swimming club has an on-going relationship with Mr Redmond who visits two or three times a year.

The club's current season will end when the school holidays end and after a two-week break the summer season will start at Oasis.

Anyone wishing to join the club for next season can contact club registrar Tracey Watson on 0447 337 325.
