Widgiemooltha narrowly defeated a strong finishing Zanthus to complete round two of the Eastern Goldfields Squash Racquets Association autumn mixed pennants competition.

Widgiemooltha had three winners on the night. Number one Andy Roberts defeated Janelle Hanks in four sets 9-6, 6-9, 9-1, 9-7. Brad Dalton won a nailbiter over Ruth Murdie in five sets, coming back from two sets down to win 3-9, 8-10, 9-2, 9-2, 9-5.

In B grade action was just as fierce. Winners this week included Fimiston over Zanthus, Binduli over Kurnalpi, Carbine over Widgiemooltha and Naretha over Bulong.

Individual winners included Bulong’s Anita Dalton, Carbine’s Stuart Kalff and Alex Aitken and Binduli’s Michael Fox.
