WESTERN Force Super 14s rugby players, Scott Staniforth and David Pusey, were in Kalgoorlie-Boulder last Thursday spreading the rugby word.
The visit was as the result of a request by Goldfields Baptist College physical education teacher, Chris Joubert, and the Western Force Super 14s players were happy to oblige.
Mr Joubert, a keen rugby supporter, said: “Anybody who has an interest in rugby for whatever reason, was welcome to come along to the school to meet the players and ask any questions regarding rugby.”
The aim was to raise awareness of the sport, he said.
Mr Joubert said he hoped to build enough interest to introduce the sport locally.
Students from John Paul College and Kalgoorlie-Boulder Community High School joined the students from Goldfields Baptist College for the occasion.
The students were each given a cap and had the opportunity to chat with the Super 14s rugby players and ask them to sign their new caps.
