MOTOCROSS riders from all classes gathered for the 'King Of The Cross' held at Southern Cross last weekend.

Saturday seen many minor accidents as a result of cold and wet weather. Fortunately there were no serious injuries.

However one rider competing in the 250cc event wiped out the front end, causing him to crash – hitting his head in the process. Shortly after the rain came down heavily and because the rider had no recollection of the rain, he was taken to hospital and treated for concussion.

The weather and the riding improved on Sunday, with riders and spectators enjoying themselves through to the finish.

Many events including the camp out were considered a success. Over-all first prise was taken out by Kalgoorlie man Jarrad Hockley, now named 'King Of The Cross 08'. Second prize for the week-end's motocross was named 'Prince Of The Cross 08'.

For the motocross lovers and riders, another weekend nears – with the Junior event taking place over two days at Chidlow 45minutes from Perth.
