Prospectors never had it so good

24/09/2008 5:50:00 PM
THE Goldfields pioneers that the Australian Prospectors and Miners Hall of Fame is dedicated to sometimes came close to dying of starvation or thirst.

And when there was food and drink, it was often bland, simple fare that would keep in the heat without spoiling.

However, there is no risk that visitors to the hall of fame will suffer the same deprivations.

The restaurant at the hall of fame opened on Sunday morning and the selections on the menu and at its bar would have an ‘old-timer’ salivating uncontrollably.

Chef Charles Kamotho is in charge.

He was previously the senior sous chef at a four-and-a-half star hotel in Perth.

The restaurant is open for lunch every day, noon-2.30pm, and for weekend breakfasts from 8-11am.

“We offer quality and plenty of choice – from snacks, sandwiches and salads through to main meals for lunch,” Mr Kamotho said.

“For breakfast on Saturday and Sunday the choice is just about unlimited.”

To book a table phone 90262700.
