'SHIPS of the desert', Hombre and Felite, patiently accept four teenage girls as passengers while Noel McKay from the Coolgardie camel farm prepares to lead them on another trek along Bayley Street during the 116th annual Coolgradie Day celebrations last Sunday. Hombre and Felite were perfectly behaved and worked hard all day giving rides, belying the often-held belief that camels spit and are smelly, unpredictable, intractable and bad tempered creatures.
