Innovative estate attracts attention

24/09/2008 5:48:00 PM
DEMAND has been strong for home sites in LandCorp’s new, innovative GreenView at Karlkurla residential estate with 18 of 32 blocks in the first stage already sold.

“GreenView at Karlkurla sets new benchmarks in housing choice within an estate close to amenities and with quality features like the park,” LandCorp’s regional manager Paul Ferrante said.

“The estate is innovative as well as being a great place to live, with incentives for environmental sustainability.

“For example homeowners are being offered a $5000 rebate if they install a rooftop grid-connected solar power supply system which feeds surplus power back into the grid and cuts power costs.”

Kalgoorlie couple, Jennifer Burnett and Dean Siddons, have bought land in the GreenView at Karlkurla estate.

“We were looking to buy a new home but found it was cheaper to buy land and build. We saw the GreenView site plans, and the proposed park and golf course which will make it a great place to live,” Ms Burnett said.

Mr Siddons and Ms Burnett said they expect to be living in their new home this time next year. Blocks in Stage 1 vary in size from 425 to 903 square metres and are priced between $155,000 and $235,000.

People on the Sustainable House Day tour (see page 14) inspected the estate, which will eventually accommodate more than 2000 homes, on Sunday.
