4/07/2008 4:09:00 PM
A 33-year-old Port Kennedy man has been charged with gold stealing following the alleged theft of $20,000 worth of bullion from a northern Goldfields mine.

The Gold Stealing Detection Unit (GSDU) will allege the contactor at the Darlot Gold Mine (400km north of Kalgoorlie) took gold on two occasions from the Barrick Gold company operation.

He will face two stealing charges in the Perth Magistrate's Court on August 5.

Any mine employee or member of the community with information on gold theft should report suspicious activity to the Gold Stealing Detection Unit on 9091 5222 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
